Make a Difference

DO YOU WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN SOMEONE'S LIFE?

Well, Second Harvest of South Georgia, Inc. can help you do just that.

Make a Difference Day is the most encompassing national day of helping others--a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors--and everyone can participate. Created by USA Weekend Magazine, Make A Difference Day is an annual event that takes place every October.  In 2007, over 3 million people cared enough about their communities to volunteer on that day, accomplishing thousands of projects in hundreds of towns.

Second Harvest of South Georgia, Inc. is proud to bring Make A Difference Day to Valdosta each year.  Our goal each October is to coordinate a group of volunteers who will work together in different capacities/areas and do their individual part to end hunger in our community.  These volunteers help process and inspect donated foods and goods and work on beautification efforts at the food bank.  We also have a Kid's Carnival with fun and games for the kids, informational tours and presentations on the Food Bank and Meet and Greets with local heroes.  Your participation is greatly needed.  Please do not miss out on Make A Difference Day each year.  To those of you who have participated in the past, Thank You and please come join in on the fun again!
