Hunger Awareness Day has been changed to Hunger Action Month and has been moved to September. More information will be coming out in the near future.


Our Annual Banquet will be held Sept. 4th at the Hilton Garden Inn in Albany. We are planning a great event this year, so mark your calendar.

04/01/08 Curves in Albany, Lee Co. & Dawson completed their annual food drive today - almost 1,000 lbs. of food collected!

04/06/08 America's Second Harvest announced a name change to its 205 member food banks. Their new name is Feeding America!

04/09/08 Idol Gives Back Campaign - The Food Bank announced today that they received a grant in the amount of $14,400 as a result of the campaign. The grant will be used to start additional BackPack programs at 3 elementary schools in Southwest Georgia.

04/17/08 ConAgra Foods - The Food Bank announced today that they received a two-year grant in the amount of $20,000 (1st year) from ConAgra Foods to start a Kids Cafe in Sylvester, Georgia. They will receive $10,000 next year to help sustain the program.

04/29/08 Manna Mobile Pantry will be pulling into the movie theater parking lot in Cordele at 10:00 a.m. Volunteers will be provided by Adventist Community Services.

05/03/08 Manna Mobile Pantry will be across from the fire station in Warrick starting at 10:00 a.m. Volunteers will be provided by Warrick UMC's new food pantry, Fishes & Loaves.

05/05/08 Wal-Mart Supercenter in Albany presents Food Bank with a grant in the amount of $1,000.

05/10/08 Stamp Out Hunger Campaign to benefit Food Bank partner agencies - don't forget to put a bag of non-perishable food items by your mailbox for you local mail carrier to collect!
